So, yesterday me, my brother and my dad went to go see Watchmen. The story itself translated from the graphic novel really well, I thought. They changed a few elements from the original, but it still fits the overall storyline. The people they picked to play the superheroes were spot on. I especialy enjoyed the performance of the psycopathic hero Rorchach.

So all in all it was a great, but graphic film. If you do not like the sight of blood then this is definatly not the movie for you. However I enjoyed myself, and I'd recommend it so long as you are aware, these guys arent your parent's superheroes.

Today is known to some as the Day of Infamy, in commemoration of what happened at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. In your lifetime, what date sticks out as the most memorable in terms of world events?

September 11th.... my dad was flying home from a buisness trip, and I was at school, so I had no way of knowing weather or not it was dad's plane that crashed into the twin towers, thankfully it wasn't but at the time, I was so scared that I might never see him again.

Many beloved television shows are no longer with us, like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Six Feet Under, and Mystery Science Theater 3000. What defunct television show do you miss the most?

Why, why,  WHY does this kind of crap always happen to me?! a few months ago I had to deal with a addware program that kept opining up ads of questionable content while I was trying to surf the web, before that I had a virus that slowed my computer down to a crawl and now THIS? This just takes the cake! Not only does this virus make it virtualy imposible for me to acess my profile, but it has infected EVERY EXECUTABLE PROGRAM ON MY HARD DRIVE! Meaning Windows, all my games, and various other software will need to be re installed ONE AT A ****ING TIME!

At first I thought that my copy of spore was to blame for my computer problems, but I just had a visit from the geeksquad, computer repair guys, and they told me that I had a bad virus on my computer that I had probobly stupidly downloaded onto my computer. This just really burns me up! Why the hell do people do this stupid crap? WHY MAKE A PROGRAM THAT SCREWS UP EVERYTHING ON YOUR HARD DRIVE? WHY?

I hate this.... I'm gonna go play some videogames on my xbox,  take out my frustrations there.

In the spirit of the Darwin Awards, what gets your nomination for the stupidest act committed by a human this year?

George W Bush and his "war on terror", more like "War to MAKE terror" and the US bailout plan.

Well, It's obvious by now, that most people are aware of Brandon's fate. I feel for his friends and family, no one should have to bury a child. That being said, I can't help but think that in a way Brandon's parents brought this on themselves. From what I understand, the reason he left was because his parents took away his Xbox. I find it interesting that this was all it took to get Brandon to run away from home, and I also find it interesting that  Brandon's father packed his bags for him and showed him on a map, where he wanted to go.

People have been telling me that this is a common way for a parent to deal with a situation like this, as the runaway would usualy be back in time for dinner. However things took a decidedly morbid turn this time, and I hope that after this, people will be less eager to send their child on their way. Perhaps a better aproach would have been to send him to his room for a while to cool off, and then try to work out a compromise, insted of just taking the Xbox away period.

I also understand that people can say rather outlandish things when they're under extream stress, and that Brandon's parents were looking for something else to blame. but gamers tend to get very defencive of their hobby when people acuse a videogame of causing a kids death. If it were just the parents saying this, I would be able to tolerate it, but of course, the media caught wind of their wild statments and started another round of the "VIDAYO GAMES R EBL!!!1ONE"  retoric, and the sad thing is, if the police hadn't spent so much time investigating a red herring, they might have found this poor boy before it was too late.

I never thought that a human being could function without a working brain.... Then I heared about this guy :

I was watching some random videos on youtube when I came across this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f66KEPGNSzk
needless to say, as an avid gamer I was outraged by this display of mind numbing stupidity. But I had hope that Jack had seen the error of his irational stance on videogames by now, so I went to Wikipidia to try and dig up a bit more information, and boy was I sorry by what I found http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Thompson_(attorney)

Not only does this man show zero respect for ANYONE who disagrees with him, he has activly proven that he needs to be sent to the nearest loony bin and locked away for good. People continue to spell it out for him that videogames do NOT TEACH KIDS HOW TO HANDLE A REAL GUN, but whenever somone actualy makes sence, this moron sticks his fingers in his ears and starts going La la la I cant hear you!

The only good piece of information concerning ol' Wacko Jacko is that he's facing perminant disbarment from the florida bar.

Well, it's been a week and a half since I started College, and things are going alright. It's going to take a while to get used to my eratic class hours though. I'm taking part in the art fundimentals course at the York Campus, which is a bit of a commute for me (I live near High park). The workload was a bit overwhelming at first, but with a little help from my family, we've worked out a system that keeps me on track.

It gets really tiring lugging around all the materials I need for my classes and I really shoud've gotten a locker, but I think that they've all been snached up already. Ah well, maybe there are still some availabe, I'll have to check the website tonight, but for now I just want to relax for a bit.
